What is a Net Worth Certificate?
A Net Worth Certificate is a document signed by a practising Chartered Accountant that certifies the total assets minus total liabilities of an individual, firm or company on a given date. It carries a unique UDIN and is accepted by embassies, banks and tender authorities as proof of financial standing.
Where is it used?
- Student visa — US (I-20), UK, Canada (SDS), Australia, Germany (block account waivers)
- Work / business visa — proof of intent to return / settle
- Bank finance — home loan, business loan, OD/CC limit enhancement
- Tender bidding — government and PSU tenders requiring net-worth threshold
- RBI filings — for ODI, LRS, FEMA-related reporting
