What is Udyam Registration?
Udyam Registration is the Government of India's official MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise) registration system, launched on 1 July 2020 by the Ministry of MSME. It has replaced the earlier Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) and is the only valid MSME registration today.
Revised MSME classification (FY 2025-26)
- Micro — Investment up to ₹2.5 cr and turnover up to ₹10 cr
- Small — Investment up to ₹25 cr and turnover up to ₹100 cr
- Medium — Investment up to ₹125 cr and turnover up to ₹500 cr

- MSME 45-day payment protection under Section 43B(h) of the Income Tax Act — buyers must pay micro/small suppliers within 45 days or lose the expense deduction
